| Life Changers Youth Project
The aim of the project is to work with young people by providing in-depth support and guidance in overcoming barriers to learning and accessing appropriate opportunities in education, training and employment, and self-development.
We aim to reduce the number of young people engaged in anti-social behavior and in turn raise academic standard.
Life Changers run regular youth empowerment forums, giving young people the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss the various issues they are faced with in the society and how such issues can be tackled.
This forum is being introduced across secondary schools and colleges
Life Changers African Dance & Theatre
This project is designed to enable young people learn more about African culture in relation to dance, music and poetry. Young people are taught how to play various African traditional musical instruments and learn the associated dance.
This training is conducted in preparation for Black History Month every October. Every October Life Changers put up an event designed by young people in celebration of Black History Month, this is aimed at promoting knowledge of Black history and experience, to disseminate information on positive black contribution to the British society and all over the world as well as heighten the confidence and awareness of black people in their culture heritage.
Dance and Drumming has a great deal of social acculturation e.g. how to lead, how to follow, how to succeed, how to think and behave in a way that benefits everybody. Young adults that have experienced this form of dance and drumming expressed the fact that it teaches a state of mind that can overcome great obstacle and can in this sense turn ordinary people to heroes.
