How our Covid-19 relief packages is bridging the gap in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Bexley and surrounding area.

As part of the efforts to ease the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic in the Royal Borough Greenwich and surrounding areas, Life Changers Foundation continues to distribute foods items, household essentials and toiletries to people in desperate need especially those from BAME communities who have been significantly affected the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the help and dedication of volunteers we continue to help people and families in across London who live in such serious poverty that they can’t afford to purchase food items, toiletries and some household essentials. LCF has continued to distribute food items, toiletries which includes toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, hand wash, detergents, shampoo and sanitary products and more – to families who ordinarily cannot afford to purchase these hygiene products especially during this pandemic.

Life Changers Foundation has received and continues receiving several calls and What’s App messages on a daily basis from people from different parts of London lamenting that they are struggling as a result of the effect of COVID-19 – 90% of which are single parents, expectant mothers, the elderly, immigrants who don’t have recourse to public funds…

At Life Changers Foundation, we are passionate about this cause and with a compassionate heart we are delivering and saving people from hunger and poor hygiene, especially people who are stuck in the system due to one reason or the other.

With the funding received from London Community Response Fund, we have so far been able to support approximately 168 families across London through the provision of food packages as well household items and toiletries – this number keeps increasing daily. LCF also supported other local groups with the Royal Borough of Greenwich which includes, Community Empowerment and support initiative (CESI) UK, Greenwich Gurkha ex-Servicemen Association (GGESA) and many other religious groups

With support from organisations such as Giving-World we have been able to provide additional free food, good quality baby clothes and essentials, bed sheets, household essentials / equipment to people in desperate need. During this pandemic, beneficiaries needs increased significantly and some requested nappies of all sizes, wipes, toiletries and menstrual products etc, all of which we were able to purchase from Inkind-direct at an extremely discounted rate.

It is essential that LCF continue to help people in need during this unpleasant time, the lockdown has been eased but the aftermath is still evidence as some BAME families are still struggling to bounce back.
